Valentina Marcano, originally from Goodyear, Arizona is currently pursuing a BFA in Dance Performance at Chapman University with a minor in LatinX and Latin American Studies. Growing up, she danced at Take Five Dance Academy where she trained in a plethora of styles and competed regionally and nationally. Valentina has performed in multiple pieces of work through Chapman University including the Fall Faculty Concert, Works In Progress, and Mainstage Spring Dance Concert. She has choreographed pieces for Chapman Dance Alliance’s 2021 concert, Works In Progress (2022), high school dance concerts, and studio performances as well as for small projects and concept videos. She has trained and worked under choreographers such as Chloe and Maud Arnold, Ido Tadmor, Rhonda Sevey, Barry Youngblood, Leo Morimune, Peter Christie, William Johnston, Sam Nelson and many others. In June ‘21, she was seen on The Late Late Show with James Corden on a special with Ariana Grande & Marissa Jaret Winokur where she made her first TV appearance under the direction of Maud Arnold. Valentina hopes to be in a tap or jazz company or tour with Cirque du Soleil post-graduation and choreograph professionally in the future.
